A warm, welcoming British café serving a simple but beautifully done menu, it champions speciality coffee and artisan bread from local legends Wooster’s — and does both brilliantly.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Brunch is where the real dilemma kicks in: creamy porridge topped with orange and hibiscus-poached pears, a rich sundried tomato and spinach shakshuka, or poached eggs with chipotle mayo on toast. And whatever you do, leave room for cake — walking out without one would be a&nbsp;rookie&nbsp;error.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rustic, wholesome and very Suffolk countryside,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.fieldskitchen.co.uk/our-menus/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fields Farm</a>&nbsp;is one of those places that does comfort food properly. The in-house catering team serves up a twist on café classics, all made using sustainably sourced, seasonal produce from Suffolk,&nbsp;Norfolk&nbsp;and Essex.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Brunch is a hearty affair — think the seriously good Brisket Breakfast with braised brisket steak, fried egg, grilled tomato, hash brown and hollandaise, or lighter starts like homemade cinnamon &amp; nut granola. Sweet-toothed types should make a beeline for the apple &amp; cinnamon pancakes.&nbsp;There’s&nbsp;even a farm trail outside to walk it all off afterwards. Brunch is served Tuesday to Sunday until 11.30am, so set those alarms if you want a seat at the table.&nbsp;</p>

<p><a href="https://www.nourishsuffolk.co.uk/our-food-drink" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nourish Café</a>&nbsp;is a love letter to seasonal, local eating, with menus shaped by what’s growing right now — and now in its home at Helmingham Hall. The food follows the rhythm of the seasons, making the most of fresh produce&nbsp;that’s&nbsp;foraged, gifted and homegrown, with organic ingredients used wherever possible.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The menu leans&nbsp;predominantly plant-based&nbsp;(but never dull), celebrating Suffolk produce in thoughtful, delicious ways. Pair it all with excellent coffee from Crude Coffee in Bury St Edmunds, and&nbsp;you’re&nbsp;in&nbsp;very good&nbsp;hands. Expect beautifully balanced dishes like peanut butter toast topped with winter berry compote, raspberries,&nbsp;blueberries&nbsp;and toasted hazelnuts —&nbsp;basically the&nbsp;ultimate grown-up PB&amp;J.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tucked just off the A14 on the beautiful Rougham Estate, <a href="https://roughamestate.com/whats-on/blackthorpe-barn/roots-cafe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Roots Café</a> is a brunch spot worth going out of your way for. The space is large but full of personality – all quirky, eclectic décor that nods to the estate&#8217;s history — and the seating options alone make it worth a visit: bag the cosy potting shed table on a crisp autumn morning, or head for the sun-drenched courtyard when the weather plays ball. </p>



<p>The menu is extensive and proudly Suffolk, with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients doing the heavy lifting. Expect everything from Wild Mushroom on Toast and a proper farm-style fry-up to more adventurous plates like Korean Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Sticky Date Pancakes for those who like their brunch on the indulgent side. Dogs are welcome too, which always earns bonus points. Brunch is served from 9am until 3.30pm – generous hours that mean no need to set a 7am alarm.</p>
