Hello lovely reader, I’m Hollie, editor of Muddy Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, here to tell my fellow stiletto-wearing Suffolk and Cambs dwellers about the quirkiest and coolest events, activities and places to visit in this wonderful county. My journalistic career has included writing for lifestyle and specialist magazines and websites including You & Your Wedding, Square Meal and Family History Monthly. Travel, interiors, fashion and culture are my passions and I’m delighted to be bringing you the latest and greatest of all of these in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. After a decade living in other cities and countries, I realised there’s nowhere quite like home and brought my family back to where I grew up. Unsurprisingly with its culture-filled university city, fabulous foodie scene and varied countryside they love it here as much as I do.

The original Muddy Stilettos tottered into Bucks/Oxon in 2011 and has expanded into 24 further counties – (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, Somerset, Suffolk, Surrey, Warwickshire and Wiltshire to name but a few) – with even more to follow this year, filling its awards cabinet along the way. As well as being the go-to urban guide to the countryside, it’s also a platform to celebrate the amazing local businesses in this beautiful county we call home.

This is the Muddy Mantra, so you know what to expect from the site:

  1. I try everything out myself so that you can fully trust my opinions. On the occasions that I haven’t been somewhere myself, I let you know that’s the case.
  2. Muddy Stilettos is a commercial site and accepts advertising and payment to feature products and brands. However, I believe passionately in only working with brands that share my ethos and are relevant to my readers. I retain editorial control and independence at all times.
  3. I accept tickets to free shows, festivals, restaurants, events etc. with the purpose of reviewing or publicising them on Muddy Stilettos, as I’m sure you appreciate it’s pretty expensive zipping around trying stuff out all the time. Hotels, restaurants, cafés, bars – if you want me to try you out, please get in touch at: via Twitter @muddysuffcambs.
  4. I’ll never write a nasty review. I’m not into trashing people, brands or companies. But if you’re not good enough, I won’t write about you in Muddy Stilettos, regardless of whether I have paid for the experience or not. This gives me the editorial control I need and the trust that my readers demand.

I hope you love the site. Please sign up for my weekly free posts delivered to your inbox about all the cool bits happening in your county.

Hollie x
