We’ll be honest – when our Commercial Manager Fran said she was going out with her Tradey Hubby to test drive the new Ford E-Transit Custom, we imagined a bloke in dusty work boots muttering about torque. What we didn’t expect was them both raving about USB ports, heated seats and the satisfyingly silent glide of this all-electric beast.

This isn’t the clunky white van of yesteryear. Oh no. This is the Mary Poppins of vans – practically perfect in every way.

The Ford Transit has been a British roads icon since 1965 – once the reserve of delivery drivers, dodgy builders, and Top Gear stunts. But now? She’s had a glow-up. Think business-class comfort with a toolbelt in the glovebox.

Ford’s latest offering can be customised within an inch of its life – double cab, multi cab, short wheel base, long wheel base – you do you. And with features like Lane Assist, a rear-view camera, auto temp control, sculpted EcoLeather seats, and a scattering of cup holders so generous it borders on luxury, it’s the van you didn’t know you needed.



Did we mention the heated wing mirrors? Because yes. There’s nothing this Transit can’t take on – school run, surf run, or straight-up work run.



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-safety-amp-tech">SAFETY &amp; TECH</h3>



You’ll get lane assist, cruise control, pre-collision alerts, hill launch assist, speed sign recognition and even a “wrong way” alert (for when you&#8217;re reverse parking with kids yelling in the back and coffee in hand). Add auto wipers, daytime running lights, rear cargo doors, and a full bulkhead, and this van is basically your four-wheeled assistant.

While out and about, Fran called in on Multi-Muddy Award winner Emma Peachey (florist and creative queen). In her words: “Floristry is just jazz hands with flowers.” And this van? Well, it’s her dream jazz band.
