<p>When you’re buying new, most cars you take for a test drive are fresh off the salesfloor, but when I got to take out the <a href="https://www.johngrose.co.uk/chery/new-cars/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chery Tiggo 7</a>, it had literally arrived at <strong>John Grose Ipswich</strong> that week – only the staff had sat behind the wheel. I probably won’t take out a car as new as that again. Cue, excited face!</p>



<p>If you’re already a fan of <strong>Omoda</strong> and <strong>Jaecoo</strong> brands, then you’re going to want to meet Chery&#8217;s very own new Tiggo 7 – the latest head-turner from the umbrella brand’s ever-growing stable. Think sleek design, a swish interior, and enough gadgets to make your iPhone jealous.</p>



<p>I took the Tiggo 7 out in Storm Grey (very chic, very country-lane friendly) for a family weekend away to <a href="https://suffolkcambs.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/ringshall-grange-suffolk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ringshall</a><a href="https://suffolkcambs.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/ringshall-grange-suffolk/"> Grange</a> in Suffolk – a moated Grade II-listed manor. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like gliding up a gravel driveway in a car that manages to look both sporty and luxurious at the same time.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-first-impressions">FIRST IMPRESSIONS</h2>



<p>The Tiggo 7 makes a bold entrance: high-end touches, a suspended dome roof design, and striking colourways that make it feel far more premium than its price tag suggests. Slip inside and you’re greeted with a luxurious cabin, sports seats with heating and ventilation (yes, winter school runs and sticky summer road trips just got an upgrade), and a 12.3-inch dual display that’s as crisp as your favourite Netflix binge.</p>

<p>Over A roads and Suffolk’s twisty country lanes, the Tiggo 7 handled beautifully. It offers three drive modes (Normal, Eco and Sport) so whether you’re conserving fuel, cruising, or letting your hair down a little, it adapts instantly.</p>

<p>On our family trip, it was spacious enough for bags, board games, wellies and even my son’s bike – and honestly, we could have packed for another week without breaking a sweat.</p>



<p>Parking was a breeze, too, thanks to front and rear sensors and a panoramic rear-view camera (vital when you’re squeezing into a market-town car park on a Saturday morning).</p>

<p>Chery has packed the Tiggo 7 with thoughtful tech that genuinely makes life easier. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mean you can hop in, sync up and go without faffing with cables, while the dual 12.3-inch HD displays give you everything you need in sharp, easy-to-read clarity. </p>

<p>The cabin lighting is a bit of a showstopper too, with 64 colours to choose from that even pulse along with your music and adapt to different driving modes – it sounds gimmicky but it’s surprisingly mood-boosting on a dark country drive. </p>

<p>Safety hasn’t been overlooked either; more than 60% of the body is made from high-strength steel and the clever panoramic cameras give you an all-round view that makes parking or tight manoeuvres a breeze.</p>
