It&#8217;s official – we’ve made it halfway through 2026, and what a corker of a year it’s been so far. So, what does June bring to mind? Freshly picked strawberries, Pimm’s and picnics, and a generous helping of glorious British sunshine. Time to fire up the barbies, pull on those festival boots, slap on the SPF, and get out and about across Suffolk and Cambs for a joyful June.

June is absolutely stacked. Kick things off on Fri 6 Jun at Cambridge Botanic Garden for the <a href="https://www.botanic.cam.ac.uk/whats-on/festival-of-plants-2026/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Festival of Plants</a> – a celebration of blooms, botanics and all things green when the garden is looking its absolute finest. Then on Fri 12 – Sun 28 Jun, the 77th <a href="https://www.brittenpearsarts.org/77th-aldeburgh-festival" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Aldeburgh Festival</a> takes centre stage, marking 50 years since Benjamin Britten&#8217;s death. One of the cultural highlights of the Suffolk calendar, full stop.



Sat 13 Jun brings one of Suffolk&#8217;s tastiest days out – <a href="https://www.tasteofeastanglia.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Taste of East Anglia</a> returns for a proper feast of local food, drink and producers. Clear your afternoon and bring your appetite. For something genuinely magical, <a href="https://firstlightlowestoft.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">First Light Festival</a> lands on Lowestoft beach on Sat 20 – Sun 21 Jun — the UK&#8217;s most easterly point, marking the summer solstice with music, arts and culture as the sun rises.

Later in the month, Helmingham Gardens opens its gates for Midsummer Nights on Thu 26 Jun – golden hour in the rose gardens, deer grazing at twilight and scents that&#8217;ll stop you in your tracks. Then to round out the month,<a href="https://www.tickettailor.com/events/landbeachpartyinthepark/2061688" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Landbeach Party in the Park</a> on Sat 27 Jun brings live music, food, bars and family entertainment to the Cambridge countryside from 6pm – midnight. Summer sorted.

June is basically one long outdoor concert and we refuse to apologise for it. The undisputed highlight is Forest Live at Thetford Forest, running Wed 17 – Sun 21 Jun with a line-up that covers pretty much every corner of your music taste – <a href="https://www.forestlive.com/mcfly" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">McFly</a>, <a href="https://www.forestlive.com/nilerodgersandchic" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nile Rodgers and CHIC</a>, <a href="https://www.forestlive.com/fatboyslim" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fatboy Slim</a>, <a href="https://www.forestlive.com/snowpatrol" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snow Patrol</a> and <a href="https://www.forestlive.com/ub40featalicampbell" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">UB40 feat. Ali Campbell</a> all confirmed. Pack a picnic, grab a blanket and stretch out under the trees. This is as good as summer gets.



Over at Newmarket Racecourses, the after-racing concerts are serving pure nostalgia — <a href="https://www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/newmarket/events-tickets/newmarket-nights/five/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Five</a> take the stage on Fri 19 Jun, followed by <a href="https://www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/newmarket/events-tickets/newmarket-nights/basement-jaxx/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Basement Jaxx</a> on Fri 26 Jun, bringing their irresistible genre-blending mix of house, funk, soul and garage to the finishing straight. Also on Sat 20 Jun, <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/suffolk/ickworth-estate/events/eab1d949-a810-49d3-9d79-68a6d318e7c4" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ickworth House</a> hosts a magical open-air evening of iconic film music with Bury St Edmunds Concert Band – silver screen soundtracks under the stars.

June&#8217;s comedy circuit is buzzing. Gutted you missed getting tickets to Richard Ayoade at Cambridge Corn Exchange? – same, but all is not lost. Primetime Emmy nominee <a href="https://www.artstheatre.co.uk/whats-on/michelle-wolf-best-job-in-the-world/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Michelle Wolf</a> hits Cambridge Arts Theatre on Sun 28 Jun, sharp-tongued and not to be missed. 



Over in Bury St Edmunds, <a href="https://www.theapex.co.uk/whats-on/details.cfm?id=1030547&amp;ins=1688190" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Scott Bennett </a>brings his warmly observed stand-up to The Apex on Sat 21 Jun, followed by the reliably brilliant <a href="https://theatreroyal.org/events/mark-watson-before-it-overtakes-us/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mark Watson</a> at Theatre Royal on Wed 25 Jun. A solid excuse for a midweek night out if ever there was one.

Supper club season is well and truly upon us. <a href="https://www.huskthorington.co.uk/supper-clubs/june-20th-2026" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Husk in Thorington</a> opens its doors for its June Supper Club on Sat 20 Jun – a seasonal menu celebrating the finest Suffolk produce in one of the county&#8217;s most brilliant spots. For something a little more unexpected, <a href="https://frankies.studio/products/hadleigh-supper-club-with-nat-essex" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Frankie&#8217;s Studio in Hadleigh</a> hosts a supper club with Nat Essex on Fri 6 Jun – Eastern European vibes, think vareniki, sauerkraut and the kind of cooking that makes you want to book a flight to Tbilisi. Then, Waresley Park is shaking things up with a <a href="https://waresleyparkestate.co.uk/whats-on-at-waresley/cocktail-workshop-1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cocktail Making Workshop</a> on Fri 19 Jun.



Then on Sun 28 Jun, <a href="https://www.burnthousevineyard.co.uk/event-details/sunday-social-x-pigs-in" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Burnt House Vineyard</a> hosts Pigs In for a laid-back Sunday Social from 12 &#8211; 5pm – loaded rolls, burgers and indulgent comfort food among the vines, with live music and easy summer vibes thrown in. Essentially the perfect Sunday. Book it in now.

Pop an afternoon tea onto an activity and you&#8217;ve got yourself a quintessentially British day out, and June is delivering on that front. On Sat 6 Jun, <a href="https://retreateast.co.uk/whats-on/BeekeepingExperience" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Retreat East</a> pairs a hands-on beekeeping experience with afternoon tea – think bee biology, hive life and honey production beside their very own hives, followed by something considerably more indulgent. Over at The <a href="https://theswansouthwold.co.uk/whatson-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Swan Hotel in Southwold</a> on 14 June, Pilates &amp; Afternoon Tea does exactly what it says on the tin – 60 minutes of movement in the Reading Room followed by a spread in the Still Room. Earn it, then eat it.



For the creative types, <a href="https://frankies.studio/products/sip-snip-collage-workshop-copy-1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Frankie&#8217;s Studio in Hadleigh</a> kicks things off on Tue 3 Jun with a floral-inspired studio session led by Hannah of HH Studio – warm-up exercises, gentle prompts and your own unique artwork to take home. Then on Sat 20 Jun, <a href="https://www.daydesign.co.uk/events" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Folk Café</a> in Bury St Edmunds hosts Paint &amp; Prosecco: Peonies from 1 &#8211; 3.30pm – you&#8217;ll leave with a colourful peony artwork, a sausage roll and a glass of fizz for £47. No afternoon tea, but honestly, no complaints either.

June&#8217;s wellness offerings range from the gloriously unhinged to the deeply restorative. Let&#8217;s start with the most bonkers: PAUS in Cambridge has its <a href="https://www.paus.life/hottubbus" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Double Decker Hot Tub Bus</a> back for summer – wood-fired warmth, elevated panoramic views and an exclusive bus lawn area. Globally unique, utterly ridiculous and absolutely unmissable.



For something a little more grounded, Jimmy&#8217;s Farm &amp; Wildlife Park hosts its <a href="https://jimmysfarm.com/event/wild-wellness-weekend-2026/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wild Wellness Weekend</a> on Sat 13 – Sun 14 Jun – mindful movement, nourishing food and immersive nature experiences set within the wildlife park. That same Sunday, <a href="https://frankies.studio/products/wellness-day" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Frankie&#8217;s in Grundisburgh</a> is running a full Wellness Day on Sun 14 Jun packed with Pilates, sound bath, breathwork, ice bath, sauna and clay. Basically a full body reset in one day.



For a gentler pace, Crcle Wellbeing hosts a Summer Soul Stretch &amp; Sound Bath on Sun 7 Jun at 5pm at The Playing Field in Huntingdon. Then set your alarm – really set it – for the <a href="https://the-suffolk.co.uk/events/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Summer Solstice Sunrise</a> on Sun 21 Jun at 4.15am on Aldeburgh Beach. Free to attend, with bacon baps courtesy of The Suffolk, and some early morning magic that makes getting up at an ungodly hour completely worth it.
