February’s serving romance with a twist — no tired clichés in sight. 13–14 Feb brings <a href="https://www.smokeandfirefestival.com/ember-lounge/the-winter-chapter/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ember Lounge</a> to Shimpling Park Farm, an immersive fire-and-feast experience set in beautiful old barns, with live-fire cooking from Diddly Squat alum Julian Brown, foraging, sourdough workshops, woodland wanders and a shared feast with paired wines (plus a goody bag, obviously). 



For something darker and moodier, The Angel in Bury St Edmunds invites you <a href="https://www.theangel.co.uk/offers/beneath-the-streets-the-valentines-edition/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Beneath the Streets</a> for its Valentine’s Edition. Kick off with a cocktail before descending into the atmospheric Vaults for intimate dining and live music (14 Feb). Prefer rosé-fuelled frivolity? The <a href="https://boothiston.com/whats-on/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Boot in Histon</a> is pouring Rosé All Day 9–15 Feb, with Lanson Rosé at the same price as the classic. And if your perfect Valentine involves firelight and jazz, <a href="https://folksuffolk.com/events" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Folk Café</a> in Bury St Eds is doing dinner by the fire on 14 Feb. Think small plates, fizz and mellow tunes whether you’re loved-up or rolling in with your besties.

February is pulling no punches on the funny front. Over in Ipswich, expect big, warm laughs as Mo Gilligan (21 Feb) and Judi Love (26 Feb) take the stage with brilliantly relatable takes on juggling work, love, parenthood and modern life — the kind of comedy that feels like a catch-up with your funniest mate.

Cambridge Corn Exchange is serving a heavyweight weekend too, with <a href="https://www.cornex.co.uk/events/the-eternal-shame-of-sue-perkins" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sue Perkins</a> on 21 Feb, delivering a sharp, self-deprecating deep-dive into stigma, misunderstanding and glorious humiliation, followed by the ever-brilliant <a href="https://www.cornex.co.uk/events/chris-mccausland" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chris McCausland</a> on 22 Feb, continuing his sell-out tour to rapturous crowds. And at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds, the UK’s dishevelled king of stand-up <a href="https://www.theapex.co.uk/whats-on/details.cfm?id=1069347&amp;ins=1781390" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Seann Walsh</a> lands on Fri 13 Feb, bringing high-energy exasperation and razor-sharp observations. This month is guaranteed to leave Suffolk and Cambs very, very grateful.

Over in Aldeburgh at Jubilee Hall on the same night, <a href="https://www.brittenpearsarts.org/events/friday-lunchtime-concert-trio-archai-i" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Trio Archai</a> serves up an elegant programme spanning early Beethoven, late Fauré and Helen Grime’s Three Whistler Miniatures — intimate, atmospheric and perfectly pitched for a winter evening of cultured calm

The stages are very much alive this February. 3–7 Feb sees The Rivals land at Cambridge Arts Theatre — and no, not that one. Set in Bath during the Roaring Twenties, this is a fizzing mix of risqué revelry, romance and rivalry as a town wrestles with tradition versus the thrilling pull of the new age, starring the brilliant Robert Bathurst and Patricia Hodge. 



Over in Ipswich, <a href="https://www.wolseytheatre.co.uk/events/glitch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">New Wolsey Theatre</a> brings one of the most powerful true stories of our time to the stage, charting the devastating Post Office scandal through the eyes of Pam Stubbs, a much-loved sub-postmistress caught up in the biggest miscarriage of justice in English legal history.

February’s creative calendar is bursting at the seams. The <a href="https://www.love-cambridge.com/arts-festival/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cambridge Arts Festival</a> returns for its third year from 9–18 Feb, bringing 10 days of exhibitions, workshops, tours, public art and family-friendly events to venues across the city — a brilliant celebration of the artistic talent that gives Cambridge its edge. 



Over in Suffolk, artists can roll up their sleeves at <a href="https://gainsborough.org/event/life-drawing-with-sue-marsdon-7-february-2026/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Gainsborough’s House</a> on 7 Feb for a full-day life drawing session, with varied poses throughout the day — untutored but expertly set, making it ideal for those looking to refine and refresh their skills. February is all about slowing the pace and topping up your calm. 13 Feb sees Willow Grange Farm host a Valentine’s-special <a href="https://willowgrangefarm.co.uk/event/candle-workshop-feb" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">candle-making workshop</a> with Beth from Bumble – The Wellness Wax Co, where you’ll learn the science of aromatherapy, blend essential oils and hand-pour your own soy candle using natural, vegan-friendly ingredients (with a complimentary drink and tasty bites thrown in). 



Over at Studio Bartlow on Sun 8 Feb, <a href="https://www.thestudiobartlow.co.uk/event-details-registration/the-art-of-rest-workshop" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Art of Rest workshop</a> offers a deeply nurturing reset through gentle movement, mindful reflection and sensory calm — perfect if your nervous system needs a hug.
