<p>This gentle Netflix drama, starring Lily James, Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes, about the discovery of <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/suffolk/sutton-hoo/digging-the-dirt-at-sutton-hoo-the-true-story-behind-the-dig">Sutton Hoo</a> was not only <em>set</em> in Suffolk but also filmed here, capturing the atmospheric countryside in all its moody glory.</p>

<p>What if The Beatles never existed? No, <em>Here Comes The Sun</em> or <em>Hey Jude</em> to belt out on a sunny day? Danny Boyle’s feel-good romp, starring Himesh Patel and Lily James, filmed key scenes in Lowestoft, bringing a slice of East Anglian seaside charm to Beatlemania.</p>

<p>Richard Curtis’s festive flick is set in a fictional coastal town clearly inspired by Aldeburgh and Southwold – you’ll spot the vibes instantly. Keep an eye out for Southwold lighthouse, the colourful beach huts, and even one of our favourite local delis, Little Gems. Pure East Anglian charm on the big screen. And fun fact, Richard Curtis and Ed Sheeran are involved in both <em>That Christmas</em> and <em>Yesterday</em>.</p>

<p>This Netflix release tells the story of the world’s first IVF baby, Louise Joy Brown, and the work of Robert Edwards, Patrick Steptoe, and Jean Purdy. Filming took place in Southwold – when Jean takes the women undergoing treatment to the beach as a bonding field trip – as well as at Cambridge’s Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic, where history was made.</p>

<p>Eddie Redmayne nabbed an Oscar for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in this biopic, filmed in and around Cambridge University. Spotting the college quads and cobbled streets is half the fun.</p>

<p>Christopher Nolan’s atomic epic may span continents, but the early scenes of a young J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) were filmed at King’s College and along the River Cam.</p>
