<p>What I love most is the connection I have with the community and the landscape. There’s something incredibly special about showcasing the beauty of this area — from the unspoiled beaches and inspiring landscape, to the charming villages and historic sites. Being able to share hidden gems and local stories with my followers, whether it’s a quiet coastal walk or a visit to a countryside pub, feels incredibly rewarding. I also appreciate the sense of authenticity that comes with promoting the things I truly love about Suffolk — it’s a place that inspires creativity and passion.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-s-the-most-challenging-part-of-insta-life">What&#8217;s the most challenging part of Insta life?</h3>



<p>Balancing the desire to share the area&#8217;s beauty while maintaining its preservation. Suffolk is such a special place, and there’s always the concern about overexposure and the impact that comes with it. I try to highlight sustainable, respectful ways to experience the coast and countryside, while ensuring that both visitors and locals can continue to enjoy these areas for years to come. It&#8217;s a delicate balance of celebrating the land, while protecting it.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-s-so-good-about-living-seasonally">What&#8217;s so good about living seasonally?</h3>



<p>There&#8217;s something incredibly grounding about embracing each season as it comes — the rich colours of autumn leaves, the quiet stillness of winter, the fresh blooms of spring, and the long, golden summer days by the Suffolk sea. Living seasonally means I can truly appreciate the changes in the landscape, from the wild garlic blooming in the woods, to the salty scent of the sea breeze on a warm afternoon.</p>



<p>It also encourages a slower, more mindful way of life. Whether it&#8217;s taking a long walk through the countryside, savouring the bounty of local produce at a market, or simply watching the tides change along the coast; living slowly allows me to fully immerse in the present moment. It’s a beautiful reminder that nature has its own pace, and when I align myself with it, everything feels more meaningful and fulfilling. There&#8217;s a deep sense of peace in living this way, where every season offers its own small joys.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-spill-the-tea-where-s-your-fave-spot-in-suffolk">Spill the tea, where&#8217;s your fave spot in Suffolk?</h3>



<p>It has to be Southwold. It’s got that perfect mix of seaside charm, with its colourful beach huts, the iconic pier, and of course, the <a href="https://adnams.co.uk/products/lighthouse-tour">Southwold Lighthouse</a> offering breathtaking views. </p>



<p>For fresh local produce, I utterly adore the seafood at <a href="https://www.pinneysoforford.co.uk/">Piney’s of Orford</a>, their restaurant is like stepping back in time &#8211; it’s sublime. I love <a href="https://pumpstreetchocolate.com/?srsltid=AfmBOor-wXeuoWXIJx4X-t9JxMK0Vj4uqJ8enpP39TP_vqcokT2hA1Bs">Pump Street Bakery</a> for the most amazing pastry’s and their very own chocolate blends. For cheese, it has to be Baron Bigod — expertly crafted just across the border at <a href="https://www.fenfarmdairy.co.uk/baron-bigod/">Fen Farm Dairy</a>. The sourdough from <a href="https://www.thepennybunbakehouse.co.uk/">Penny Bun Bakehouse</a> is my go-to for bread, and for classic fish and chips, <a href="https://www.solebayfishco.co.uk/the-little-fish-chip-shop">The Little Fish and Chip Shop</a> in Southwold is unbeatable. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/littlegems21/">Little Gems</a> greengrocers is incredible for quality and variety, too.</p>

<p>Then there’s Dunwich. Lately, I’ve been spending more time walking through the woods there, and it’s been such a peaceful escape. The woods have this calming energy — surrounded by tall trees, the smell of fresh pine, and the sound of birds — it’s the perfect way to unwind. I’ve really noticed the health benefits too, from easing stress to just feeling so much more relaxed afterwards. Dunwich, with its history and natural beauty, really is a hidden gem, and it’s one of those places where you can truly disconnect and recharge.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-perfect-suffolk-weekend-what-s-on-the-itinerary">The perfect Suffolk weekend – what’s on the itinerary?</h3>



<p>I’d begin by heading to Southwold, where I could spend the morning strolling along the beach, taking in the views from the lighthouse, and maybe grabbing a coffee from <a href="https://twomagpiesbakery.co.uk/southwold/">Two Magpies Bakery</a> while watching the waves. In the afternoon, I&#8217;d wander through the independent shops and over the footbridge to beautiful Walberswick. <a href="https://theblackdogdelis.co.uk/walberswick-deli/">The Black Dog Deli</a> stands out for its commitment to locally sourced ingredients and its knack for turning them into exceptionally tasty treats. Their organic hot chocolate is a must-try, and it’s an ideal stop for picking up cheeses and olives before heading to the beach.</p>

<p>The next day, I’d venture inland to Dunwich for a scenic walk through the woods. The natural beauty there is unmatched, and I love the sense of peace and tranquillity it offers. After a peaceful stroll, I’d head to <a href="https://www.brittenpearsarts.org/visit-us/snape-maltings">Snape Maltings</a>, exploring the galleries and enjoying the stunning countryside views. A late afternoon drive through the rolling hills of Constable Country would be the perfect way to end the day, perhaps stopping for a bite at a country pub.</p>



<p>In the evening, I’d head back to Aldeburgh to enjoy dinner by the sea, ideally seafood from the local fishermen, and then finish with a sunset walk along the beach. It would be the ultimate blend of coast, countryside, and the relaxed charm Suffolk is known for.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-coast-or-countryside">Coast or countryside?</h3>



<p>That’s a tough one, but if I had to choose between country or coast in Suffolk, I think I’d lean toward the coast for most of the year. There’s something magical about the sweeping seascapes, the rugged beauty of the coastline, and the peaceful, quiet atmosphere that feels like a place where you can truly unwind and reconnect with nature. As the seasons shift, I love moving with the rhythm of the coast — embracing the warmer months by the sea and feeling the breeze carry the promise of summer.</p>

<p>That said, I also cherish the countryside, especially in the winter months. When the air turns crisp and the landscape transforms into a peaceful haven, I love the joys of the countryside. The quiet walks and cosy country pubs offer the perfect retreat from the colder weather. There’s something deeply restorative about the countryside in winter, and it’s a place that feels timeless, offering warmth and comfort when the world outside is at its most still. So, for me, it’s about moving seasonally — the coast in the warmer months, and the countryside in the winter, each offering its own unique beauty and joy.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-cafe-or-pub">Cafe or Pub?</h3>



<p>It&#8217;s got to be a pub! There&#8217;s something so special about the cosy, welcoming atmosphere of a country pub, especially when you&#8217;re sitting by a roaring fire in winter, or enjoying a glass of bubbles in the gardens on a sunny day. The local pubs here always have such character, whether they&#8217;re tucked away in a quiet village or overlooking the coast. You can’t beat a hearty meal made with locally sourced ingredients, and of course, it’s the perfect spot to catch up with friends or simply enjoy a peaceful moment.</p>
