Property flirt!

Welcome to Willow House! It only takes a glance to fall in love with this pink-hued, 17th Century, six-bedroomed beauty with a vineyard - but can you guess the price?

New Year, new reason to look at other people’s houses! Namely a snoop around this magnificent pile in Fressingfield, on the market with Strutt & Parker. Grade II-listed, with six bedrooms (plus a one-bedroom annexe), extensive grounds and a simply stunning vineyard, this is quintessential country living – but can you guess the price? Let’s go in and have a poke around. Muddy stilettos off at the front door though please!

Let’s start with that vineyard! Imagine sipping a glass of your own-blend Bacchus grapes al fresco and overlooking this serene scene, cheers!

Next up, check out the former granary! Converted into a self-contained annexe, which won a Conservation Award, it’s currently being used as a holiday let. There’s a gallery-style sitting room on the first floor, and a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/breakfast room on the ground floor. We can see teenagers/grandparents/visiting friends loving this hideaway.

This place is full of charm, I love all the original features like timber beams, fireplaces and terracotta floors. The kitchen/breakfast room’s really cosy, with shaker-style units, a Belfast sink and Aga. There’s also a butler’s pantry and a utility room, ie a place I’d put all the stuff I don’t want on show!

On the ground floor there are also three reception rooms of similar proportions: drawing room, sitting room and study all of which I’d like to curl up with a good book in.

Upstairs, this pad has the same casual-yet-chic country house style in the three double bedrooms, including the main bedroom, overlooks the front and rear gardens. There’s also a family bathroom with a freestanding roll-top bath and a separate shower, plus a shower room. The second floor has three further rooms!

Let’s take another stroll outside, because the gardens really are so wow and include a vegetable patch Mr McGregor would be proud of.

And here she is from the back. Nice, eh? So, how much do we think this pastel beauty is going for? I’ll adjourn to the vineyard with my glass of Muddy pinot while you have a ponder. Actually – spoiler alert – you can find out here, and book in for a viewing should you fancy it.
