Hidden away in the Suffolk countryside, Alder Carr is the kind of farm shop that makes you want to ditch the supermarket forever. Bursting with seasonal veg, dairy, and meats from nearby farms, it’s a love letter to all things local. But it doesn’t stop at a bulging farm shop – there’s also a top-notch butchery and deli counter, a garden centre, a charming craft and gift shop, and the Courtyard Café, tucked inside a dreamy oak-framed barn. Top tip: don&#8217;t leave without picking up a tub of award-winning Alder Tree ice cream.

The big daddy of farm shops – and we mean big. Suffolk Food Hall is a full-blown foodie destination with everything (and everyone) under one very stylish roof. Think fresh local veg, a cracking butchery, bakery, deli counters. But wait, there’s more: café, gelato hut, restaurant. Outside? Stretch your legs on the farm or river trail, say hi to the animals, and let the kids loose on the bouncy pillow! Top tip: The cinnamon buns are not to be missed.

A local legend since 1976, Friday Street Farm Shop has gone from a modest stall of seasonal bits to a full-blown rural destination. These days it’s home to a buzzing Farm Shop, a mouth-watering delicatessen, a walk-in cheese room (yes please), a brilliant butchery, and a kitchen that dishes up hearty, wholesome food every day. There’s even a permanent on-site Fishmonger. And when the sun’s out? Don’t miss the Pick Your Own soft fruit – it doesn’t get fresher than that.

Think freshly baked bread, free-range eggs from just down the road (literally), and creamy dairy from Suffolk and Norfolk. They’re big on proper farm-to-fork values too, sourcing goodies from trusted growers in nearby Wisbech. A rural retail gem.

That means super-fresh local gems from right here in Cambridgeshire, alongside a handpicked haul of the UK’s most exciting foodie brands.
