Mauldon’s Brewery, Sudbury
Crafting fine Suffolk ales since 1795 and showing no signs of slowing down.

Raise a glass to Mauldon’s Brewery — the oldest brewery in East Anglia and a true Suffolk treasure. Brewing fine ales since 1795, Mauldon’s is based in the market town of Sudbury and remains dedicated to traditional brewing with a modern, sustainable twist.
The core range features six award-winning beers, complemented by seasonal small-batch brews crafted throughout the year. Their much-loved Suffolk Pride even took home Bronze in the Best British Bitter category at the SIBA National Independent Beer Awards — proof that good things really do get better with age.
Now part of the Nedging Hall Estate, Mauldon’s keeps things wonderfully local. Barley is grown on their own farm, hops are sourced from across the UK, and the spent grains are fed to Suffolk’s rare-breed Red Poll cattle. Even the hops get a second life — enriching the soil at Nedging Hall’s gardens. Solar panels power the brewery, making Mauldon’s a front-runner in East Anglia’s drive toward net zero.
Head Brewer Steve Birch has been part of the story for over 40 years, ensuring every pint reflects the brand’s heritage and heart. You’ll find their beers flowing proudly at The Lindsey Rose, The Bildeston Crown and The Brewery Tap — three local pubs that perfectly complete Mauldon’s sustainable, Suffolk-born circle.
Traditional craftsmanship, a commitment to sustainability, and a pint with real provenance — that’s Mauldon’s Brewery.
