Can't get through September without some snazzy new stationery for yourself? Or looking for a gorgeous locally-made gift? You need some of this paper-based perfection in your life...
It’s September and even though we’re officially adults now, we still can’t quite fight the urge to stock up on new stationery to mark the start of autumn and the new school (ahem, I mean work) year. Instead of brightly-coloured new pencil cases and glitter gel pens from WH Smith, these days we’re lusting after something a lot more age appropriate and chic from local illustrator and designer extraordinaire Charlie and her graphic designer husband Gavin who own Sleepy Bee Studio in Cambridge, which launched this year.
On my September stationery lust-list this year, you’ll find products from Sleepy Bee’s first four collections inspired by our very own city – ‘Cambridge’, ‘Botanical’, ‘Darwin’, and ‘Stargazer’ (if you don’t get the name references you need to get yourself some glitter pens and go back to school after all!). The collections include hand-poured wax seals and beautiful calligraphy, plus notebooks, postcards, and gift wrap. So they’d make the perfect gift too (…did I mention my birthday’s coming up!).
Like what you see and want to buy it (of course you do!), you can find Charlie on Saturdays (weather dependent!) at the All Saints Craft Market in Cambridge or for other events that Sleepy Bee will be at, visit their instagram page: @sleepybeestudio
