<p>Prefer two wheels over two legs? You’re spoilt for choice with gorgeous cycling routes winding through Rendlesham Forest, along the River Deben, or past Ipswich Harbour. The scenery’s so good, you’ll barely notice the workout.</p>

<p>Orford might be peaceful now, but scratch the surface and you’ll uncover stories that are anything but sleepy. Top of the list is the <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/suffolk/orford-ness-national-nature-reserve" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">National Trust’s Orford Ness</a> — a truly wild and remote stretch of shingle spit with a chilling Cold War past.
