<p>You might wonder if being so close to Woodbridge and Ipswich, Grundisburgh could hold it&#8217;s own on the foodie front, but this little area of Suffolk packs a real local punch. There&#8217;s the<a href="https://thesuffolkdeli.co/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Suffolk Deli</a>, which opened in October 2024 in the old Post Office building. Its mission? To make deli shopping affordable and accessible to all – supporting local businesses and with everything made on site. Then, if a really great local pub is a non-negotiable in your house hunt, we&#8217;ve got good news. <a href="https://www.grundisburghdog.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Dog</a> is everything you could want from a traditional country boozer, with a cosy bar, crackling log burner and fresh, seasonal Suffolk produce. And, true to it&#8217;s name, it is totally dog-friendly. On Tuesday nights you can find <a href="https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063651938363#" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Moving Plaice</a> fish and chip van on Grundisburgh Green for top notch tucker. </p>

These events are big hitters on the local calendar, drawing in crowds from far and wide. Expect bunting, veg competitions and enough charm to make you consider relocating.</p>

<p>For a small Suffolk village, Grundisburgh punches well above its weight when it comes to things to see and do. Fancy a stately wander? Just 10 mins up the road lies the utterly dreamy <a href="https://www.helmingham.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Helmingham Hall</a>, with its Grade I listed gardens that are straight out of a period drama. <p>Spin 15 mins in the other direction and you’ll land at <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/suffolk/sutton-hoo" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sutton Hoo</a>, the iconic Anglo Saxon site that’s basically history’s version of buried treasure (hello, Netflix’s <em>The Dig</em>).
