<p>Oh la la things have got a bit chic at <a href="https://www.bedfordlodgehotel.co.uk">Bedford Lodge Hotel &amp; Spa</a> in Newmarket who have just announced a new Champagne partner, the prestigious Billecart-Salmon Champagne house. Only the best restaurants with meticulous service are chosen by the Champagne house, so take it as a seal of approval that a dinner here is very fine indeed. The nearest local restaurant that also has the Champagne as their house pour is the 2 Michelin starred Midsummer House in Cambridge. So if you&#8217;re celebrating something in Suffolk, you know where to head! </p>

<p><a href="https://daysbakery.com">Days of Ashwell</a>, the much-loved Herts/ Cambs bakery chain has opened a brand new Bakery and Farm Shop in the village of Newton, Cambs and it is a thing of beauty. Housed in a gorgeous old barn, it&#8217;s stocked to the rafters with fresh fruit, veg and local produce as well as dry goods and home cooked ready meals. There&#8217;s also a smart bakery counter along the lines of a French boulangerie and in summer there&#8217;s outside seating too. It&#8217;s so nice I&#8217;ve changed the school run route just to include a stop by! </p>

<p>Rebecca Cockett owner of the pretty in pink <a href="https://www.mamabearscakebar.co.uk">Mama Bears Cake Bar</a> in Saxmundham has announced she&#8217;s opening a second branch, this time in The Walk, Ipswich and it&#8217;s due to open at the end of November. Expect more of her exquisite cakes that taste as good as they look, washed down in the cute café with glasses of Prosecco, as well as events and workshops and the chance to order celebration cakes. </p>

<p>Kibou, the gorgeous new Japanese restaurant on Jesus Lane in Cambridge have announced the launch of a brand new concept &#8211; <a href="https://kibou.co.uk/news/kibou-cambridge-afternoon-tea">Japanese Afternoon Tea</a>! So if you&#8217;re bored of finger sandwiches and classic cakes this is the tea for you. It includes a range of sushi and sashimi, such as tempura prawn California roll, salmon tataki with mango salsa and sea bream nigiri followed by traditional Japanese sweets like a signature yuzu cheesecake and Japanese garden tartlets, mochi ice cream and traditional custard dorayaki with strawberry compôte. Forget English Breakfast tea too &#8211; this three-tier treat is served with a choice of Japanese teas and infusions and you can upgrade to a glass of Taittinger Brut Réserve Champagne, signature KIBOU cocktail or Junmai Tokubetsu sake. The price is pretty sweet too &#8211; just £19pp for the veggie version and £23pp for the classic. </p>

<p>Award-winning designer and illustrator Rory Hutton (who created the designs for the King&#8217;s Coronation) has collaborated with our very own Nara Cambridge for his brand new range of linens, which celebrate one of Britain’s most important ceramics collections. The RORY HUTTON X NARA CAMBRIDGE collection includes a tablecloth, matching napkin and tea towel featuring a series of ten teapots, inspired by the ceramics of the Fitzwilliam Museum.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Alexandra Bishop, owner of Nara Cambridge worked with Rory as well as artisans in Rajasthan, India to combine traditional hand block print techniques with contemporary design that means the pieces work perfectly in a modern home.  The collection launched on 20 October and is available at <a href="http://nara-cambridge.com/">nara-cambridge.com</a>.  </p>
