<p>There&#8217;s a tasty new collaboration in Cambs &#8211; celebrated chef and restauranteur Regis Crepy and his son Alex have launched <a href="https://www.amelierestaurants.co.uk/amelie-at-bens-yard/">Amelie at Ben’s Yard</a> and we think it&#8217;s a match made in heaven. As well as Amelie Restaurant there will also be a more relaxed Amelie Café &amp; Bakeshop featuring exquisite pâtisserie. Chef Rory Landells is leading the kitchen team at Amelie Restaurant with a menu of freshly prepared Mediterranean-inspired dishes and Suffolk&#8217;s Nethergate Wines have created the perfect wine list to match. </p>

<p>More excellent news for anyone who lives in or near Ely because Willow Grange Farm, a wedding venue in Chittering, has announced the opening of a <a href="https://willowgrangefarm.co.uk/cafe">new café</a> on <strong>24 July</strong>. The Grain Store has been repurposed and will now house a gorgeous space for coffee and catch ups as well as an exciting series of workshops, pop up evenings and one-off brunch events. The menu will feature toasties, elevated salads and sweet treats with a focus on local sustainably sourced produce. There will also be a farm-to-fork <a href="https://willowgrangefarm.co.uk/farm-shop">farm shop</a> opening later in the summer that will feature products from local lovelies including Grain Culture, Brewboard, Isle Soap Co, Miniml Refills, Thatch &amp; Roses and By Ruby. </p>

<p>More exciting news for Cambridge foodies because The University Arms has announced the appointment of a new chef at the <a href="https://parkerstavern.com">Parker&#8217;s Tavern</a> restaurant and it&#8217;s none other than Lee Clarke, who you&#8217;ll recognise from Prévost in Wansford and Clarkes in Peterborough. He trained under Marco Pierre White and Albert Roux so expect to see some pretty specular Michelin-level food at the restaurant going forward!</p>

<p><a href="https://www.permitroom.co.uk/locations/cambridge">Permit Room Cambridge</a>, an all-day cafe-bar version of the much-loved Dishoom chain of restaurants, opened its doors on 20 June on Trinity Street and it looks amazing. The name comes from the permit rooms of Bombay where punters would need a special permit to buy alcohol. No need for a permit to try the brilliant array of drinks on offer here though. And don&#8217;t miss the mouth-watering menu featuring chaats, patties, small savouries, curries, daals and salads. One for the stretchy waistband trousers! </p>

<p>A day out at Ferry Meadows is always a good idea, but it&#8217;s so vast that getting to it can be a bit of a trek. Good news then that there&#8217;s a brand new shuttle bus running at weekends during the summer holidays starting from Gunthorpe and stopping at Paston, New England, Millfield and ending right in Ferry Meadows. <p>We love a stylish pop-up especially in the gorgeous boutique shop-filled Suffolk town of Southwold and this summer it&#8217;s the turn of <a href="https://www.wyselondon.com/">WYSE London</a>, known for their amazing dresses. It&#8217;s the brand&#8217;s first physical retail presence outside of London and the store, which opened on 20 June, will be in situ for 3 months. The pop-up will feature a curated collection for the summer months &#8211; from gorgeous dresses in leopard print, linen and silk to the perfect denim shorts, feminine blouses and t-shirts with a twist. <p>Hats and racing go together like a horse and carriage so it&#8217;s no surprise that <a href="https://suffolkcambs.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/national-horseracing-museum-newmarket/">The National Horseracing Museum</a> has launched hat making course to help racegoers look the part this summer. In fact, the museum is home to the only hat block library in the world so there&#8217;s nowhere better to learn millinery, especially when the teacher is Yvette Jelfs, who creates bespoke hats for Royal families and celebrities and has one of the largest hat block collections in the world, some of them belonging to famous clients which can be seen in the Hats and Horses display. </p>



<p>The course takes place on three dates 27 July 2024, 7 December 2024 and 8 February 2025. It starts from £80pp and you can learn to make a Panama or headpiece with flowers and feathers and lunch is provided in the Tack Room.  </p>

<p>Gorgeous children&#8217;s shop <a href="https://foxandbramble.co.uk">Fox + Bramble</a> has some exciting news &#8211; they&#8217;re opening a cute little café called The Nook at the back of their Felixstowe store this July. The café will serve smoothies and smoothie bowls, ice cream, and both sweet and savoury treats and kids are very much encouraged to make themselves at home and play while parents have a much-needed sit down or peruse the lovely clothes and gifts. Or swerve the kids entirely and enjoy a take out service instead! You&#8217;ll find The Nook at 34 Orwell Road, Felixstowe. </p>

<p>Summer holiday trips to National Trust&#8217;s Anglesey Abbey just got even more appealing with the launch of their brand new <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/cambridgeshire/anglesey-abbey-gardens-and-lode-mill/events/6fb54031-e279-4dde-8d57-25e6b06d51a0#">Garden Office Café</a>. The new café is located close to the house and is open daily from 10:30am- 4pm. And over at <a href="https://www.staplefordgranary.org.uk">Stapleford Granary</a> there&#8217;s a brand new horse box café serving coffee, cold drinks, cakes and ice cream in the beautiful Orchard that will be open throughout July and August.  </p>
