<p>The Chestnut Group, owners of some of our favourite locals including The Westleton Crown, The Black Lion and The Carpenters Arms have recently unveiled a brand new look for <a href="https://www.thepackhorseinn.com">The Packhorse Inn</a> in Moulton. This pub was the one that started off The Chestnut Group ten years ago and the recent updates include a stunning new light-filled barn restaurant area, a cute cosy wood-pannelled bar area and brand new bedrooms out the back. The kitchen has also been extended with a viewing area so you can watch as the chefs whip up the locally-sourced seasonal fare that The Packhorse is known for. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C5brYJBo_yD/?hl=en">Check out our opening night pictures here.</a></p>

<p>On the subject of impressive pub renovations, <a href="https://www.greeneking.co.uk/pubs/suffolk/dog-and-partridge">The Dog &amp; Partridge</a> in Bury St Edmunds has also just unveiled a stunning new look with a particularly lovely courtyard garden that would be an ideal spot to while away this sunny weekend. </p>

<p>New indie clothing and lifestyle store <a href="https://www.bohoandblyth.com">Boho &amp; Blyth</a> has opened at 58 Thoroughfare in Halesworth, one of <a href="https://suffolkcambs.muddystilettos.co.uk/best-places-to-live/halesworth-suffolk/">our favourite small Suffolk towns</a>. The new shop&nbsp;sells boho fashion, including brands like Chalk and One Hundred Stars, as well as jewellery, homewares and gifts. </p>

<p>Cheese lovers of Cambridge rejoice because there&#8217;s a new first class cheese shop to get your fix. <a href="https://www.darrys.co.uk">D&#8217;Arry&#8217;s restaurant</a> and liquor lounge on King Street has launched <a href="https://thecheesemonger.co.uk">The Cheesemonger</a>, an onsite shop selling British made artisan cheeses expertly matured by Cambridge&#8217;s Perry Wakeman&nbsp;– reigning Affineur of the Year for two consecutive years. The shop is also selling the perfect accompaniments including chutneys, crackers, charcuterie and wine.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve enjoyed St Elizabeth Hospice&#8217;s previous art installations &#8211; Pigs Gone Wild, Elmer’s Big Parade Suffolk and The Big Hoot &#8211; then make sure you don&#8217;t miss their 2025 offering, <a href="https://www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/hoptoitsuffolk/#:~:text=Through%20hosting%20Hop%20to%20It,look%20forward%20to%20and%20enjoy.&amp;text=St%20Elizabeth%20Hospice%20improves%20life,progressive%20or%20life%2Dlimiting%20illness.">Hop To It!</a> The local charity has just announced that in 2025, huge painted bunnies will be dotted about Ipswich, Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Beccles and Lowestoft with a lovely trail to follow in each location to raise money for the hospice. </p>

<p>A visit to Helmingham Hall Gardens is a must this summer &#8211; not only is there the lovely Wright&#8217;s Café and amazing David Harper sculpture trail to enjoy, as well as the stunning gardens of course, but there&#8217;s a new shop to discover &#8211; <a href="https://www.helmingham.com/the-shops-at-helmingham-hall/">The Stable Shop</a>. The new look shop opened on 1 May and is full to the brim with beautiful gifts, homewares and lifestyle products. </p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-quentin-blake-comes-to-bury">Quentin Blake comes to Bury</h3>

<p>If you love the iconic illustrations of Quentin Blake then you&#8217;ll be delighted to hear that there is a summer exhibition of his illustrations opening at <a href="https://www.moyseshall.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moyse’s Hall Museum</a>, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk next month. From <strong>4 June</strong> you can see <a href="https://www.moyseshall.org/whats-on/details.cfm?id=896547&amp;ins=1348390" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Illustrated Hospital</a>, an important display with some illustrations that have never been seen in public before.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-new-exhibition-at-peterborough-cathedral">New exhibition at Peterborough Cathedral </h3>



<p>If you&#8217;re over near the Peterborough border you&#8217;ll want to head to <a href="https://www.peterborough-cathedral.org.uk/143/section.aspx/142/peter_marlowe__the_english_cathedral_">Peterborough Cathedral</a> from <strong>14 May &#8211; 13 June</strong> to see the new photography exhibition of works by the late Magnum photographer, Peter Marlow. The free exhibition chronicles all 42 naves of England’s Anglican cathedrals taken in natural light and Peter&#8217;s photographic &#8216;portraits&#8217; of the cathedrals at dawn capturing them emerging from the darkness as if suspended in time and removed from the modern age.</p>
