We can&#8217;t think of many nicer ways to spend a summer&#8217;s afternoon than in the alfresco amphitheatre at Waresley Park Estate watching some top notch outdoor theatre. The season kicks off on&nbsp;29 May&nbsp;(over half term) with a family showing of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/illyria/t-yamnlje">The Adventures of Dr Dolittle</a> by the theatre production company Illyria. Later on in the summer on 23 August there&#8217;s an adaptation of <a href="https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/illyria/t-earedoo">Romeo &amp; Juliet</a> also from Illyria. Refreshments, including an open bar and open grill are available. 



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-muddy-s-cinema-pick-big-top-cinema-at-nene-park-peterborough">MUDDY&#8217;S CINEMA PICK: Big Top Cinema at Nene Park, Peterborough</h3>



Rol up, roll up&#8230; there&#8217;s a big top coming to Nene Park near Peterborough but it&#8217;s not what you might think. Instead of tightrope walkers and acrobats this is the Big Top Cinema and inside you can watch brilliant movies including Wonka on 16 May at 5pm (tickets include a chocolate egg!), Grease Sing-A-Long on 16 May at 8pm, Roald Dahl&#8217;s Matilda The Musical Sing-A-Long on 17 May at 5pm and The Rocky Horror Picture Show on 17 May at 8pm. <a href="https://www.nenepark.org.uk/big-top-cinema">Book here.</a>

It wouldn&#8217;t be outdoor theatre season without some fabulous shows from Te Pantaloons and this summer the residents of East Anglia are in for a treat as they take a tour of some of the region&#8217;s best-loved pubs and venues. The Chestnut Group are hosting the company&#8217;s latest adaption of <a href="https://www.chestnutgroup.co.uk/the-pantaloons-pub-tour">A Midsummer Night&#8217;s Dream</a> on the following dates: 17 June at The Ship, Dunwich; 18 June at The Weeping Willow, Barrow; 26 June at The Packhorse Inn, Moulton; 2 July at <a href="https://suffolkcambs.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-black-lion-long-melford/">The Black Lion</a>, Long Melford; 3 July at <a href="https://suffolkcambs.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-carpenters-arms-great-wilbraham/">The Carpenters Arms</a>, Great Wilbraham; 15 July at The Crown, Stoke by Nayland; and 16 July at <a href="https://suffolkcambs.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-westleton-crown-near-southwold-suffolk/">The Westleton Crown</a>, Westleton.

Roll out the picnic blanket because Thorington Theatre has its usual amazing schedule lined up for summer 2024 starting on&nbsp;23 May. There&#8217;s something to delight all outdoor theatre enthusiasts at these two gorgeous venues this year. The Unusual Adventures of Robin Hood starts the run at the Abbey Gardens on 29 July followed by The Secret Garden on 1 August. Little ones will love The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village on 6 August, while slightly older kids and adults should snap up tickets for Beowulf on 7 August. The outdoor theatre run finishes with the brilliant Quentin Blake: Angelica Sprocket&#8217;s Pockets on 9 August. 



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-ipswich-outdoor-cinema-christchurch-mansion-6-8-sep">Ipswich Outdoor Cinema, Christchurch Mansion, 6 &#8211; 8 Sep</h3>



Adventure Cinema are showing three films over consecutive nights at the start of September this year in the lovely grounds of <a href="https://www.adventurecinema.co.uk/venues/christchurch-mansion">Christchurch Mansion</a>. You can choose between Dirty Dancing on 6 September, The Greatest Showman Sing-A-Long on 7 September and Grease Sing-A-Long on 8 September and there will be food stalls and a bar on site if you can&#8217;t be faffed with packing a picnic.
