Pop the corks and dust off the dancing shoes — the night we’ve all been waiting for finally arrived: the Suffolk & Cambs Muddy Awards Drinks 2025, and oh boy, did it deliver.

Hosted at the utterly dreamy Branches Park Estate in Newmarket — a brand new events space nestled in 1,500 acres of idyllic Suffolk countryside — this year’s celebration was all about raising a glass (or several) to our amazing local indie heroes. And raise them we did!

The bubbles were flowing, the canapés were divine, and the sun even put on her best golden-hour glow. It was the perfect cocktail of celebration and connection, as indie businesses from across the region came together to mingle, toast and network — all with the gentle hum of wedding singer Will Overton serenading the scene.

This year’s stats? Jaw-dropping. Over 20,000 businesses nominated, half a million votes cast and 11 million people reached nationwide. That’s a whole lot of love for the small but mighty businesses that make local life so fabulously fun.

A huge shoutout to our sponsors John Grose Ipswich, longstanding champions of the region’s motoring scene since way back in 1888. The team couldn’t join us on the night, but we’ve been road-testing some of their latest models (all in the name of research, of course), so keep an eye out for our favourites.

Guests left with smiles, selfies — and fabulous Muddy goodie bags brimming with local treats. Huge thanks to The Gainsborough Spa in Cavendish for their indulgent voucher, Sweetie Factory for their delicious handcrafted chocolates, and Heart of Suffolk Distillery for their award-winning gin (cheers to that!).
