Sensory Philosophy Candles and Diffusers

A boutique Cambs-based fragrance house that creates the most luxurious and beautifully-scented candles, wax melts, diffusers and bath salts in an environmentally-friendly way.

Mix the idyllic lavender-filled fields and lemon-tree lined boulevards of the South of France with a pretty flower filled English country garden and you’re some way to imagining what it’s like to light and breathe in the sweet scent of a candle from Sensory Philosophy, a brilliant indie owned by Amelia and Michèle, who initially started creating home fragrance products in France before bringing the business over to St Neots.

As the name suggests Amelia and Michèle believe that fragrance is so much more than just a nice smell, and so their stylish and luxurious products – scented candles, diffusers, bath salts and wax melts – are intended to appeal to all the senses. And, with their chic pared-back jars and branding, amazing range of scents and the warm flickering glow that they bring to a home, you’ll certainly feel like all your sensory needs are met. Each product is filled with love and passion too, being handmade in the studio in small batches to ensure they’re as fresh as possible.

Top marks to this business for helping the environment whilst making your own smell divine. As well as ensuring their ingredients are the highest quality, Amelia and Michèle are passionate about the brand being as eco-friendly as possible. They do this by using sustainably sourced soy wax and the best oils from UK suppliers. On top of this they source recycled materials, which can then be recycled again or reused. Almost all of the Sensory Philosophy products can be refilled too, with the Reed Diffuser Refills one of their most popular products. They also have a brilliant candle refill scheme, which promotes reuse and is a cost-effective way to shop for candle lovers.

We’re huge supporters of shopping local here at Muddy, because there’s something rather special about the community it creates, and that’s exactly what you can get from Sensory Philosophy. If you’re based near St Neots you’ll find Sensory Philosophy at the monthly Farmer’s Market where you can stop by the stall for a chat and meet the makers before filling a bag with goodies. Or you can shop local and buy their products in other St Neots indies including the Shopkeeper’s Daughter, St Neots Museum, Bohemia Roasts and Kat Tilley Bespoke Skincare. Further afield? No worries, because all the products can be purchased online too.

Of course, it’s not all about you, and Sensory Philosophy products would naturally make the most wonderful gifts for all types of occasions from birthdays and anniversaries to teacher thank yous and get well soon gifts. We love that all products come with complimentary gift wrapping too (whether they’re a treat for yourself or some else), so you don’t even have to lift a finger! The only tricky part? Deciding which of the sweet-smelling scents to fill your home with!
