Secret Meadows Glamping
Unplug from daily life at this luxe getaway near the Suffolk Coast. Four poster beds, fully-equipped kitchens, wood-fired hot tubs and rural views for days – it’s glamping, but not as you know it.
Want to know a secret? We’ve found a glamping site in Suffolk that is so luxurious and idyllic that even the most camping-adverse holiday-makers would be in seventh heaven staying here. Secret Meadows takes the idea of sleeping in the great outdoors to completely new heights and, as the name suggests, once you know about it, it’s the sort of place you’ll want to keep all to yourself.
Forget pitching your own, cooking over the campfire and trudging to the shower block in the cold, it’s luxury living all the way here with four-poster king size beds, fully-equipped kitchens, proper private toilets and showers and even that hotel staple… the complimentary tea and coffee tray! And outside it just gets even better with wood-fired hot tubs, fabulous wildflower meadows and wildlife all around.
The only difficulty about a stay here is choosing between the nine amazing accommodation options. There are six luxury lodge tents (that sleep up to 6 people), the Gypsy’s Rest Caravan (sleeps 4), the Horsebox Hideaway (sleeps 4) and the incredible two storey tent that sleeps 8. Yes you did read that right… an actual tent with two floors that’ll make you feel like you’ve stepped into the pages of a Harry Potter book!
All of these magical spaces are surrounded by 115 acres of stunning Suffolk countryside and each one is perfectly private. What makes Secret Meadows really stand out as the place to go glamping though, is that it’s owned by a wildlife charity, The Sinfield Trust, and all profits go to nature conservation. So, while you’re enjoying all the mod cons of a posh boutique hotel in your “tent”, you can sleep soundly in your four poster at night knowing your holiday is supporting the environment and making a positive difference.
All that fresh Suffolk air got you feeling hungry? Secret Meadows have teamed up with the local farm shop to offer guests an onsite pantry stuffed full of lovely local produce as well as special hampers for glamping guests. In keeping with their eco ethos there also are green-themed packages, complimentary eco products and outdoor activities to enjoy such as meeting the animals, whittling and bow and arrow making, plus new for 2023 – goat walking!
If it’s the more traditional type of walkies you have in mind, then you’ll be delighted to hear that dogs are very welcome here too. There’s a large enclosed Dog Park for pooches to burn off energy and a dog package that includes a bed, blanket, towels, bowls and organic treats.
Don’t just take our word for how amazing Secret Meadows is though… this glamping site has won a whole string of awards including the Green Tourism Gold Award, Camping, Glamping & Holiday Park of the Year, Visit East of England’s Best Camping, Glamping, Holiday Park, Self-Catering Accommodation Award 2022, the Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Awards and is now a finalist in the Muddy Awards 2023 for Best Boutique Stay.
Some secrets are just too good to keep!
