As attractions go, Newmarket Racecourses (the July Course and The Rowley Mile), home to Newmarket Nights live music concerts, is up there with the best. Not many counties can say they’ve got a state of the art racecourse that holds world class races, amazing events and sees some of the most sought-after musical acts take the stage each year. In fact, Newmarket is completely unique, being an entire town dedicated to the wonderful sport of horse racing, with the glorious spectacle of glossy race horses exercising on the heath a daily occurrence.

Newmarket Racecourses really does have something for everyone – even if you’ve never been horse racing before. As well as an amazing calendar of race days including the much-loved July Festival, where you can get dressed to the nines for Ladies Day and the 2000 Guineas to name the most famous ones, there are world-class music events too. The Jockey Club’s Newmarket Nights are amazing concerts that you can enjoy after Friday night racing during the summer, as part of a crowd that’s so much more intimate than any gig you’d pay for. Every year they bring ever more impressive acts out of the bag for us Cambridge and Suffolk folk to enjoy.
