Okay, honesty alert. Despite being a car-review editor, I’ve never been the most confident driver. New places? Nerve-wracking. Unfamiliar cars? A whole other level of stress. So, when I first laid eyes on the Peugeot 3008, I felt an immediate wave of intimidation. It was bigger than anything I’d driven before, and I was convinced it would be a challenge.



Imagine my surprise, then, when I set off around Suffolk and felt more confident than I ever had in a car. The elevated driving position gave me a commanding view of the road ahead, making me feel both secure and in control. The comfort factor? Unmatched. The drive? Smooth as silk.



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-first-impressions">FIRST IMPRESSIONS</h3>

Three reviews in and I&#8217;m getting pretty nifty at working an automatic. Unlike some other cars, the 3008 operated almost silently and it was by far the smoothest drive I&#8217;ve experienced so far.



One of the standout features for me was the 21” curved frameless display with i-Toggles. Rather than being a distracting piece of high-tech wizardry, it was intuitive and easy to use, thanks to a secondary touchscreen positioned below the air vents. Add to that the new compact steering wheel, and I felt a real sense of connection to the road without being overwhelmed by buttons and controls.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Safety and Tech</h3>



The Peugeot I-Connect Advanced offers a next-level driving experience, with natural voice recognition, high-performance navigation, and dual Bluetooth functions. The car is also packed with storage and secret cubby holes (17 to be precise), such as a wireless smartphone charger — so you&#8217;ll never be out of battery or entertainment in this car.

The two-position boot floor added a bit of wow-factor to a busy working mum. The height of the boot can be adjusted to two levels, depending on your needs, prioritising volume or easy access. Music to my ears.

<li>Electric Powertrains: Whether you go for the Standard Range (327 miles, WLTP) or the Long-Range version (435 miles, WLTP), the 3008 is paving the way for sustainable, long-distance driving without compromise.</li>

So, did the Peugeot 3008 change my perspective on driving big cars? Absolutely. It’s a car that doesn’t just look good; it makes you feel good behind the wheel. Confidence-boosting, effortlessly smooth, and packed with smart tech — it’s an SUV that even nervous drivers (like me!) can fall in love with.

Good for:&nbsp;Those who are looking for a family car that offers comfort, space and efficiency. 



Not for:&nbsp;Those with on a strict budget – the Peugeot 3008 does come in at a slightly higher price point.



The damage:&nbsp;Starting at a reasonable £34,450 for the self-charging hybrid Allure and reaching up to £51,135 if you want to upgrade to the electric GT model.
