Whaley good local label

East Anglian based clothing line 'Whale Of A Time' is rocking the retro sportswear vibe and we have a great little giveaway!

Whilst desperately trying to find something different for Christmas presents this year I stumbled across Whale Of A Time (W.O.A.T) – a super cool clothing line based just across the border in Norfolk.

Muddy loves a cottage industry success story and W.O.A.T was founded by young entrepreneur Ellie Wales in 2016 while she was still at sixth form. Drawing inspiration from the North Norfolk Coast (#inlovewithlocal) her stylish retro inspired designs look equally at home on the beach and in the bar. I absolutely love the bold block colours and who can resist a bit of trendy leisure wear? Style and comfort in one!

It was the vintage vibe that initially caught my eye and I was reminded of a jacket I used to own in my teens but unlike my 80’s polyester version, these 100% cotton fabrics are much less likely to go up flames if you stand too close to a fan heater!

Ellie is already ahead of the game with sustainable fabrics and her recyclable packaging. Plus her zero waste policy results in some rather lovely sample sales (little Muddy tip – follow them on social for all the lowdown). Having said that – it’s all great value for the quality with prices varying from £29.95 for a t-shirt, £42.95 for a sweat top and £48.95 for a hoodie.

I reckon I can still rock one of their zipped sweatshirts but to be honest the slightly preppy feel might lend better to a younger Muddy reader! You’ll be in good company as most of the cast of Made in Chelsea seem to have been snapped in one of their deck shirts, t shirts or hoodies.

New this season – the Penzance Puffer Jacket is a perfect addition to the collection and we have one, worth a cool £150, to give away!!! Head over to our Reader Treats section for more information on how to be in with a chance of winning.
