<p>One of our favourite local companies, The Chestnut Group (of <a href="https://suffolkcambs.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-rupert-brooke-grantchester/">The Rupert Brooke</a>, The Northgate, The Packhorse Inn and <a href="https://suffolkcambs.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-crown-stoke-by-nayland/">The Crown at Stoke By Nayland</a> fame) has taken over <a href="https://www.carpentersarmswilbraham.co.uk">The Carpenters Arms</a> in Great Wilbraham, given it one of their incredible interior makeovers and have just opened it for punters this April. We haven&#8217;t propped the stylish bar up yet, although it&#8217;s only a matter of time (and a willing babysitter!), but try and keep us away from the delectable sounding menu and super-cool spaces&#8230;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">New café coming to Southwold in June</h2>

<p>We don&#8217;t have many details about this one yet, but you&#8217;ll want to schedule a visit to stunning Southwold this June, as a new farm-to-fork café/restaurant is set to open at Southwold&#8217;s brand new Old Hospital Hub (home to the new Library, and two other community businesses, including a co-working space). The Canteen will be headed up by award-winning Suffolk Head Chef,&nbsp;Nicola Hordern, and will feature Mediterranean-style menus usually locally-sourced ingredients. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">The return of Tivoli in Cambridge </h2>

<p>The Tivoli Pub on Chesterton Road is set to reopen this Spring. City Pub and Cambridge&#8217;s Steak &amp; Honour are behind the relaunch of this historic Art Deco building that was gutted by a fire in 2015. We&#8217;ve heard rumours of exciting plans afoot for this four-storey restoration, including street food vans, an indoor golf course, a roof terrace and events space, and a shuffleboard club planned for the basement. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Swoop retail taproom comes to Cambridge&#8217;s Green Street</h2>

<p>To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Cambridge&#8217;s <a href="https://www.drinkcranes.co.uk">Cranes Cider</a> (famous for their fruit ciders) has opened <a href="https://www.theswoop.co.uk">The Swoop</a> on Green Street. They&#8217;re calling this new concept a Retail Taproom and inside you&#8217;ll find loads of incredible local brands all under one roof, including a lot of Muddy Stilettos&#8217; favourites. We&#8217;re talking&#8230; Cranes Cider, Chilford Hall Wine, Jakes Gin, Ely Fudge, Rennett &amp; Rind, Hot Numbers, Heavenly Cakes, Pinkster Gin and many more&#8230; Basically lots of gorgeous, and indulgent local goodies, to be devoured or gifted if you have the willpower. Oh, and while you&#8217;re shopping you can enjoy a coffee, alcoholic drink or bread, cheese or dessert board. And finally, they run cocktail masterclasses. Count us in! </p>

<p>There&#8217;s a new Italian in town&#8230; <a href="https://www.facebook.com/rusticoburystedmunds">Rustico</a>, at 83 Risbygate Street, and it&#8217;s a gorgeous new independent venture from an Italian owner serving authentic Italian food. Expect amazing cocktails and Italian wines to wash down a menu of classics from around Italy &#8211; handmade pasta and pizza using Suffolk flour, lasagne, Ossobuco alla Milanese, Ravioli di Melanzane, and Frittura di Mare.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vino Gusto gets a bricks and mortar store</h2>

<p>Another new opening in Bury, this time a drinks shop, <a href="https://vinogusto.co.uk/blogs/the-blog/vino-towers-now-open">Vino Gusto</a> on Hatter Street. Vino Gusto was the online venture from the team behind one of our fave Bury pubs, The One Bull, and is doing so well they&#8217;ve opened a shop. You can buy bottles, enjoy wines by the glass using a pre-paid Vino Gusto card or sign up for a wine tasting event. The shop is light-filled and pared back inside and we love how the bottles are divided into sections called &#8216;Rich &amp; Toasty&#8217;, &#8216;Light &amp; Crisp&#8217;, &#8216;Juicy &amp; Fruity&#8217;, &#8216;Funky &amp; Exotic etc&#8230; I wonder which category I&#8217;d fit into?! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Waffle Hut opens in Newmarket</h2>

<p><a href="https://www.facebook.com/TheWaffleHutNewmarket/">The Waffle Hut</a>, previously a street food option &#8211; and sister company to The Bakery in Palace Street, Newmarket &#8211; is going up in the world with its own building. You&#8217;ll find the new Waffle Hut in the old Gallops Tearoom (opposite Waitrose) serving both sweet and savoury options at the end of this month. </p>

<p>Ok, I&#8217;m going to sound like I&#8217;m always in the pub&#8230; but this is another absolute favourite of mine, <a href="https://www.thethreehills.co.uk">The Three Hills Bartlow</a>. Turns out I have excellent taste, because this stylish pub in the beautiful Cambs village of Bartlow has just been voted as the best pub in Cambridgeshire in the National Pub and Bar Awards. Congratulations to the brilliant team there! </p>
