If you love to craft and discover gorgeous handmade objects for your home, to wear and to give as gifts, then you’ll want to check out the ultimate craft-lovers fair coming to Hatfield Park from 5 – 8 May 2022. Living Crafts is handmade heaven – a one-stop creative shop and fabulous fair that celebrates and showcases the amazing talent of acclaimed designer-makers from across the UK.
It’s not all about shopping though… this four-day spring event gives you the chance to get stuck in and make your own masterpieces, through a whole host of fabulous workshops. There’s something for every interest, from willow-weaving, enamelling and batik to raku-firing, stone carving and calligraphy.
Don’t worry, if your workshop attempts aren’t quite as slick as you hope, you can pick up beautiful and contemporary pieces, handmade jewellery, unique gifts and artisan homewares made by creative geniuses from around the British Isles. It’s a wonderful chance to meet the makers too, and pick their brains about the techniques they use and hear their fascinating stories. There are plenty of brilliant demos and talks to enjoy too, so you can learn from the experts before getting your hands dirty at home.
Not to be missed is the exciting Sculpture Spectacular – an outdoor gallery of contemporary pieces. And, make sure to allow time for the popular glass blowing demonstrations, as well as a brilliant programme of children’s activities that includes workshops in feltmaking, clay modelling and chocolate making.
Once you’ve shopped till you’ve dropped and had a go a creating your own works of art, you’ll have worked up an appetite. Like all good countryside fairs, Living Crafts has plenty of artisan food and drinks in the popular Food and Drink Pavilion to fuel you throughout the day, as well as lively entertainment to create a fabulous festival vibe.
