<p>They’re baaaaaack! Set an alert – Monday 13 April sees the return of the BBC’s Killing Eve. Make a date with the sofa (I will be swathed in pink tulle for the occasion) for an evening of wardrobe envy, sexual tension and assassination as Sandra Oh’s Eve Polastri and Jodie Comer’s Villanelle continue to torment one another in season 3. Rumour has it, the show’s creator Pheobe Waller-Bridge makes an appearance in season 3 too. <p><em>Tiger King</em> is having a virtual water cooler moment and it is so wild, it’s hard to believe it is a seven-part docuseries and not a true-crime drama. It stars tiger breeder Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic – a polyamorous gay, gun-toting, drug-addicted cowboy with a mullet –and exposes the dark underworld of big cat breeders and owners in the US. If you’ve only just recovered from&nbsp;<em>Don’t F*** With Cats?</em>, brace yourself, this is twice a bonkers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><em>Ozark</em> (Netflix)</h2>

<p>If you loved&nbsp;<em>Breaking Bad,</em> then&nbsp;<em>Ozark</em> will be right up your street – and there are three seasons to devour. Starring Jason Bateman (<em>Horrible Bosses</em>) – he also produces and directs – and Laura Linney (<em>The Big C</em> and&nbsp;<em>Love Actually</em>) it’s about a financial adviser who drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder $500 million in five years to appease a drug boss. Rest assured, it all kicks off.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong><em>Unorthodox</em></strong> (Netflix)</h2>

<p>Based on a true story, this Netflix four-parter was released in the UK at the end of March and whizzed straight into its top 10. So carve out four hours (shouldn’t be too hard right now) because once you start you won’t want to stop.&nbsp;<em>Orthodox</em>is a moving story of a young woman seeking her own sense of self. Newly married and pregnant, Esty, a Hasidic Satmar Jew, flees her controlling life in New York for new beginnings in Berlin.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Teeeeeense! This is not for the faint-hearted,&nbsp;<em>Save Me Too</em>is the hotly anticipated follow up to the 2018 hit&nbsp;<em>Save Me</em>, starring Lennie James (co-creator and co-writer) and Suranne Jones. It’s a gripping emotional thriller, tackling the tough subject of sex trafficking and a father’s desperate search for his missing daughter. It’s got emotional welly, gritty story-telling and nothing is sugar-coated, but it’s damn fine TV.</p>

Creator Matthew Graham has confirmed a third and final series is in the works, so buckle up and bingewatch some of the best TV and one-liners ever on BBc iPlayer or Netflix.&nbsp;</p>

<p><em><strong>House of Lies</strong></em>&nbsp;is a US comedy series based on the book&nbsp;<em>House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Then Tell You the Time,</em>&nbsp;written by&nbsp;Martin Kihn, a former management consultant. Starring Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell,&nbsp;<em>House of Lies</em>pokes around the professional and personal life of Marty Kaan (Cheadle) – a manipulative, immoral, cold-hearted consultant. It’s&nbsp;<em>Wolf of Wall Street</em>lite, exposing corporate greed and sends up the money-hungry 1%, peppered with a lot of sex scenes.</p>

<p>What would you do for love? Joe Goldberg is a serial killer, hipster bookstore manager, played by&nbsp;Penn Badgley, who despite being easy on the eye is in fact super creepy. Using social media and the internet, he uses every tool at his disposal to get close to his victims, even going so far as to remove any obstacle – including people – that stand in his way.</p>

<p>A horny teen comedy could be the stuff of TV nightmares, but it’s Tenna pants funny with Gillian Anderson as sex therapist mum to Otis ((Asa Butterfield) who whose work has brought enough unwanted knowledge into the home to have turned you off sex – even sex with yourself – for lifesets up his own under-the-radar sex therapy clinic with his classmate at a Welsh high school.&nbsp;A friend described&nbsp;<em>Sex Education</em>as a cross between Essentiel Antwerp meets Biba 1974. I think she meant the wardrobe. But&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><em>True Detective</em> (Sky)</h2>

<p>All three seasons of&nbsp;<em>True Detective</em>&nbsp;are currently on Now TV and Sky. The first season starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson is an iconic and disturbing investigation spanning decades; I’d then skip the clunky second series starring Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn and go straight to the third with two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali. It’s a brilliant return to form. It’s a dark crime drama with quality acting.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><em>Chernobyl</em> (Netflix)</h2>

<p>Sky’s depiction of the&nbsp;Chernobyl&nbsp;disaster swooped in and won all the awards. It’s that freaking good. A gripping dramatisation of the 1986 nuclear explosion, it’s considered one of the best TV series of all time There’s an unnerving level of accuracy and realism with the five episodes of the miniseries – although no dodgy faux Russian accents, the whole cast speak with a zakuski of English accents. You’ll be gripped.</p>

Midge is a mid-century housewife who seems to have it all by 1950s standards but wants to break into the comedy circuit and sets her sights on a stand-up career. Welcome LOLs right now.</p>

<p>Billions will be back with its fifth series in May – and we cannot wait. The series follows the empire of eccentric and fanciable billionaire Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis), who made his fortune in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks by gaming the stock market. Attorney Charles “Chuck” Rhoades Jr (Paul Giamatti) has an axe to grind with Axelrod and wants to pursue him for financial crimes. There are, however, complications.</p>

<p>Not the toughest watch, but if you fancy a mindless, mindful series&nbsp;<em>Good Girls</em>could be the one. Starring&nbsp;<em>Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks, it follows the lives of three suburban</em>women who turn to crime to solve their financial sinkhole. It’s daring, full of fun, that often feels as nervy as anything.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Were you even living in 2019 if you didn’t binge-watch&nbsp;<em>Succession</em>? Filming of the next series has been delayed due to the global C word, but it means we can watch it all over again (or for the first if you had a TV blackout last year). Loosely based on the Murdoch clan, this delicious drama follows a billionaire media family and their Machiavellian crew and a melting pot of backstabbing, lies, and twisted family politics.</p>

<p>I’ve always hated the idea of cheerleading: the girls relegated to the sideline, looking cute, while the boys do serious business of sport? Yuck. Well, how wrong was I – this incredible documentary series follows America’s most accomplished college cheerleading squad. There’s a mix of boys and girls on the team, it’s a competitive sport in its own right and they are astonishingly focused athletes, despite many coming from challenging backgrounds.</p>

<p>Richard Armitage (who you might remember as smouldering MI5 agent Lucas North in&nbsp;<em>Spooks</em>) plays a dad who’s got it all – a loving wife, two lovely sons and an idyllic family life. Everything changes, however, when a mysterious stranger in a bar tells him a secret about his wife. This compelling 8-part British adaptation of Harlan Coben’s novel reveals a dark conspiracy at work. Two Muddy staffers have already been sucked in, with more due to follow in the coming weeks.</p>
