A modern, quirky gastropub with brightly coloured dining rooms and a long list of food awards. There’s a kid’s menu, extensive outdoors terrace, and a fire pit too.

The phrase award-winning is overused, but it’s a fair cop when talking about The Unruly Pig: Michelin Guide named the pub one of the top six food pubs in the east of England; they are The Good Pub Guide‘s Dining Pub of the Year 2021; and they were just announced as the highest climber in the top 50 Gastropub charts this year – in at number 10. Head Chef Dave Wall has worked at Bibendum, Gordon Ramsay’s Boxwood Café, Claridge’s and Le Talbooth, plus he was crowned Britain’s Best Pub Restaurant Chef 2019/20 – not bad! The Telegraph says: ‘Just a damn good restaurant.’

The menu is a mouth-watering combo of seasonal British food with Italian influence. We love the sound of Stout braised beef feather blade, Jerusalem artichoke, truffled mash, and cavolo nero or the crab tonnarelli pasta, chilli, spring onion, and brown crab emulsion.

Regarding the atmosphere, it’s a modern, quirky pub with brightly coloured dining rooms, funky art and an extensive decked terrace and fire pit. For little ones not interested in a fancy splatter of sauce, there’s a dedicated kid’s menu.
