Love the idea of sleeping under the stars and gulping lungfuls of clean air on holiday, but not up for pitching your own tent? Savage Glamping in Suffolk, is the perfect middle ground where you can enjoy the great outdoors, but with all the modern comforts you’d expect on a holiday.

This charming rural escape certainly puts the ‘glam’ in glamping, with six huge bell tents all kitted out with a beautiful king-size bed and luxurious soft furnishings. Most importantly, in our opinion, there are two smart family bathrooms on site with hot electric showers and lovely loos (no holes in the ground here, thank you very much). Heaven!

Each of the six tents has room for up to three additional beds, making them ideal for family holidays, and all have their own outdoor fire pit and BBQ. The tents are located within a wonderful three acre meadow, so you can relax and let little ones run around safely, plus there’s a wooden play area to keep them entertained too.

Like the idea of having the whole stunning space to yourselves? As this bijou glampsite can sleep up to 30 people, it’s perfect for exclusive use bookings for large multi-generational family holidays, hen parties, wedding anniversaries or any group celebrations. Imagine the fun you could have celebrating together in the pretty communal space (above), before heading off to sleep in style in your beautiful bell tent.

We should mention that there’s nothing savage about a stay here (Savage is simply the surname of the lovely owners Lucy and Ross). In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Luxuries include a kitted-out kitchen with cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave and even a washing machine (ideal when you’ve spent the day at the beach). And, if you can’t live without your phone (after all you’ll want to be instagramming this place from top to bottom), fear not, because they provide phone charging battery packs.

A stay here is all about embracing the good life – allowing the little ones to run free within the meadow, waking up to the sound of birds singing, and taking a visit to the on-site ‘pick and prune’ herb and vegetable garden before cooking al fresco. Or if you’d prefer not to lift a finger, just put your feet up around the fire pit with a glass of wine before heading out to one of the lovely local pubs and restaurants in the area.

Savage Glamping is open from April – end of October (with a minimum 2-night low season and 3-night high season stay) and is perfectly placed to enjoy all the best bits of delightful Suffolk with countryside, castles and the beautiful heritage coastline all less than a 30-minute drive away.
