That’s where Heloise, owner of Bespoke Party Bands, can help. Representing a select number of talented musicians from Cambridge (who can also travel to events in Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex), she can advise exactly which group will set the tone and bring the energy and fun to your do, whether it’s a wedding, corporate event or a birthday bash. And, if nothing quite suits, the musicians are really flexible and can combine a mixture of musical styles for you with everything from pop, funk, soul or smooth jazz to contemporary ceilidh music and Ibiza sax sessions.

Calling all control freaks… the beauty of this bespoke service is that you can be as hands on as you want. You don’t simply book your band and wait for them to show up (although you can do this if you’re the laidback type!). Heloise and your chosen band will work with you from the start to create your dream setlist and help you decide on timings for your party. And the best bit? As the musical talent is local it’s easy to go and see them in action before your book at nearby wedding fairs and venues.

Bespoke Party Bands has two main bands that they suggest for big events like weddings – Moves Til Midnight or Dance Away which, as the names suggest, really get guests on their feet and dancing till the last song. You can also book individual artists or duos as well as acoustic line ups for smaller events or to provide more of a background music vibe, like we did this summer for our Muddy Awards Drinks. Harri, a talented singer and guitarist, really wowed guests and created a wonderful, celebratory feeling throughout the evening.
