Christmas food boxes and deliveries in Suffolk and Cambs

Can't be ars... er bothered to stuff a turkey and spend hours stirring the bread sauce this year? We've rounded up the best restaurants and delivery services who'll whip up a feast for you, all you have to do is serve!

It’s a strange old year and Christmas isn’t going to be quite like it usually is, so we reckon now is as good a time as any to throw away your apron, crack open the Buck’s Fizz as soon as you wake up on the 25th and order one of these brilliant local Christmas food boxes for you and your guests instead. Some are full Christmas dinners, so all you have to do is bung the food in the oven, while others contain sweet treats that’ll save you from slaving over the stove GBBO-style making pastry and decorating the cake.

BEST FOR FOODIES: Midsummer House’s Christmas Box, £650 for two people

Christmas dinner boxes

If your guest list is set to just the two of you, why not pamper yourselves and go all out with a box from Cambridge’s most famous gourmet destination – Midsummer House? Everything is cooked by a Michelin-starred chef and comes with wine pairings too – how posh! The box includes a Christmas Eve dinner of chicken terrine, sides, a dessert, a baked camembert and a bottle of sauvignon blanc; as well as salmon, caviar and cuvée for Christmas Day breakfast, followed by turkey and all the trimmings for lunch and sherry triple for pudding.

They’ve taken care of Boxing Day too with a lunch of braised ox cheek and mashed potatoes, finished off with a delice of pear and mulled wine. Also nestled in this culinary delight are carrot cakes, a selection of chocolates, a loaf of sourdough bread and salted butter from The Estate Dairy. The price might sound hefty but with three days worth of food we reckon it’s worth it.

BEST FOR TRADITIONALISTS: Noble House Prepared Christmas in a Box, from £44 for 2 people

Noble House has offices in both London and Cambs so is ideally placed for us East Anglians to get our hands on some of their delicious food prepared by chefs trained by some of the biggest names in the industry. If you opt for the ultimate box you can gorge on pigs in blankets, a range of sauces and Christmas pudding too.
